— Product Overview

Rexistro is a simplified accounting tool for entrepreneurs, startups, and small-to-large business owners.

I was tasked with figuring out how to design the product's experience and service, ensuring that users can track the inflow and outflow of cash and access their financial information anywhere in the world.

We analyzed the onboarding of this product for our target users, ensuring we provide personalized accounting and bookkeeping services for them.

— Discovering a Problem

Tamara builds global businesses for Africans. As a professional business consultant with lots of clientele, she kept running into clients who could not clearly state their financial numbers, get access to easy-to-use accounting services, or afford a financial auditor. This problem birthed Rexistro and also helped us gather insights into customers' perspectives and solutions to their problem.

— Product Expectations

Our goal is to create a destination where business owners can stay on top of their finances with affordable accounting services that can be easily navigated for the typical layman without an accounting education, which some of our competitive products lack. Also bear in mind data security to protect our users' business information.

— Core Product Offerings

The core product offerings are everything a business owner needs for efficient bookkeeping.

Invoice & Contact: users can generate, print, and export invoices after business transactions and can also search for clients' or customers' contacts as well as save and edit their information.

Dashboard: the dashboard is an overview of the user's profits, losses, and expenses incurred in their business.

More: this screen contains important features like expenses, assets, profit & loss, liabilities, inventory list, balance sheet, and tax management, which are essential for every business owner.

For additional value, educational resources and materials will be added to educate users about accounting terms.

— Learnings & Takeaways

A few months into my design journey, I worked on Rexistro. It was the first time I would be working on a project that will launch and used by real people, and I was excited about getting my hands dirty since it provides real value.

While the app's launch didn't materialize as planned, the experience of co-founding Rexistro was invaluable. I learned so much about accounting and bookkeeping concepts. It taught me the importance of adaptability, perseverance, and collaboration in the face of challenges. I gained deeper insights into the startup ecosystem, honed my design and communication skills, and developed a resilient entrepreneurial mindset. I'm so proud of the work we did.
